Rockstar Games has officially announced that the Grand Theft Auto 5 will be released sometime soon. The latest game sequel from the successful GTA franchise is back with its crime adventure excitement that many GTA fans have loved over the years. A teaser trailer was released last November and many are excited for the prospect of the title to come out later this year.

Despite the hype, there is still no confirmed release date. But that does not stop gamers from pre-ordering the game online. What is still a big mystery is that Rockstar did not announce the consoles the game is made for. There has been speculation that the GTA may be available when the next generation of Xbox and Playstation edition comes out.

The game has been under development for the past few years and the predicted release date in the second half of this year is possible. So far, the GTA franchise sold a total of one hundred fifteen million units since its inception thirteen years ago. The GTA 4 sold a whopping twelve million units alone when it was released four years back.

Gaming sites have been throwing theories left and right on what could be the possible setting for the GTA V. Last March, the parent company of Rockstar, Take-Two held a nationwide acting audition for an unknown project. The casting involved selecting a certain number of people and a site where they are asked to act on certain situations. It was believed that the whole scenario was for the latest GTA installment.

Rockstar did not comment and the world will not know what the developing company was up the past few years let alone the casting calls that were made last year. The third installment of the franchise, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, featured an area called “Vinewood,” which was intently named after California’s own “Hollywood.”
